At 3 am, I woke up until 18 missed calls from my daughter and a text saying,
“My mom, help me!” She lives alone while she is pregnant in seven months. I traveled there as quickly as possible. She looked surprised and said,
“I was asleep. I did not call!”I took out my phone and freezed. There was a text that he said:
“My child’s fever does not come down. What should I do?” This was followed by a picture of a crying child.
I reviewed the number of the sender, and this was not the number you know. I called him again, and a young woman answered. Through tears, she made it clear that she was a new mother trying to contact her mother because her child suddenly fell ill in the middle of the night and will not stop crying.
It turned out that, in a state of panic, she had contacted the wrong number, and her desperate message ended on my phone.
Fortunately, she managed to calm her and wander her gently across some things that she could try while waiting for the doctor.
The entire experience felt surreal, especially because my daughter expects. I have never heard of that woman again, but I really hope that she and her child are fine.
