29 -year -old American trade life in New York City for Istanbul
In 2017, Doux BarnardAt that time, a college student took a trip to India with his mother. The experience was so effective that in the end, he was inspired to be a full-time traveler-the way he did not know was possible for him.
“Going to India was an eye experience for me. For the first time, I went to a foreigner, a stimulant, and for me it was epiphony that I needed to experience more,” Barnard made CNBC.
“The most exciting part is to talk to people and see how things work. The immersion really got me.”
Barnard graduated in 2018 and went to New York to the city of Walmart. At that time, he earned around 000 60,000 in the e-commerce sector, and he did not like his job even though he did not like him.
He says, “I think one part of me was looking for a meaningful meaning in my work.”
Since leaving the United States, Barnard has traveled to places like Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

While working at Walmart, Barnard started a YouTube channel dedicated to his journey. The first trip he featured on his channel is a visit to Saudi Arabia in 2020.
He says, “Saudi Arabia was the type of mysterious country at that time. It was closed for decades and it was recently opened for tourism,” he says. “At that time, people thought I was crazy. My parents told me not to go. My grandfather offered me to repay. But I went for it and it was nice.”
After that year, Bernard was removed from the job due to the disease of the companion. Others may be afraid of being unemployed, but Barnard saw himself as an opportunity to bet.
“My dream was to travel full -time, live abroad, immerse yourself in these foreign places, and live life from YouTube.”
Barnard went to Istanbul in 2023.

About three months later, Barnard booked a one-way ticket from the United States. In January 2021, he came to Serbia and later traveled two years before deciding to make Turkey, Istanbul, Turkey in 2023.
“While growing in the connecting, I would never have imagined that I live in a place like Istanbul or travel everywhere I am lucky to travel,” says Barnard. “I found that I was returning to Istanbul again. This is really the right place for what I am doing. This is the center of the world. I love the language, I love culture, I love history.”
His time abroad inspired Barnard to start a boutique tourism company Doug Barnard Travel?? They take small groups of 8 to 10 people at the cultural immersion tour of places like Iraq, Syria and Pakistan. Barnard also offers a private tour.
Traveling abroad at Barnard inspired him to start a tourist business where he guides customers on a immersed tour.

“This is a really genuine journey. I want to say that it is as real as Egypt and India are amazing but they have collective tourism industries and are so new to tourism in a place like Iraq that you will have a real experience,” says Barnard. “People are eager to come to you. The guest is far from this world and everything you see is incomparable.”
Barnard’s YouTube channel helped bring his first customer to his tourist company. His early videos have many destinations featured where he offers his dissolved tour.
Bernard says, “Most of the time, people will know that we are in business there and then once we tell them that we are there that people are usually happy as tourists,” says Barnard. “They are truly proud to show their country. They really were happy to see the foreigners interested in visiting and learning their country.”

He says, “I think American people can make this effect in their head that the whole world did not experience me,” he says. “We are geographically different in the western hemisphere and the world is worth seeing.”
