A new study reveals violence in the workplace in the United States
I found a worrying new study.
One of every three employees who were surveyed said they witnessed a physical quarrel at the workplace in the past five years – an increase of 25 % in 2024, according to the Human Resources Compliance Training Company, which was published, which was published June results Wednesday.
The poll found that 15 % of the disturbing respondents of 1,009 respondents said they were targets of violence in the workplace – an increase of 12 % last year.
The vast majority of workers-90 %-said that the highest in their companies needs to do more to address their safety fears.
Among the 13 % of the respondents who said they were insecure at work, things like a toxic workplace culture, anxiety of violence and fear of revenge are the first contributing factors.
“These results confirm that safety is no longer just compliance requirements, but a cultural necessity,” said Billy Weiti, the lawyer for compliance in Traralt, about the results.
When they were asked if they were comfortable with their ability to remove a physical threat at the workplace, employees’ answers via generations lines-with 58 % of children’s births and 54 % of Gen-xrs, saying they felt prepared, compared to only 47 % between the millennium and only 41 % between Gen-Zers.
In a brighter note, three out of four employees said this year that they had received exercises on the workplace from the employer – an increase of 70 % last year.
The study did not distinguish between the violence he committed between co -workers and an attack like those that were revealed on Park Street in New York on July 28, when a stranger from Las Vegas, Shen Tamura stormed the offices building and killed four people.
Whitsitt The Post told the city center’s workplace to be a “tragic reminder” that such events are part of a “increasing national crisis”.
“Employers have an urgent responsibility to act now with strong plans, training, and culture that puts safety first.”
