Benavidez vs. Beterbiev in 2026? Turki Alalshikh prepares the road with Riyadh’s event
Turki Alalshikh’s idea of having David Benavidez and the former Diamond Lightweight Heavyweight Champion Artur Beterbiev seems to share the same card on November 22nd in Riyadh in Riyadh pairing them against each other for the beginning of 2026.
Benavidez Riyadh vs Beterbiev setup
- David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde
- Artur Bilerbiev vs. Dean of Nicholson
Benavidez’s 175-lb WBC champion (30-0, 24 ko) against Beterbiev (21-1, 20 ko) would be an exciting battle that would attract a lot of interest from fans worldwide. It is understandable why Turki would want to create interest in the conflict first by getting them to share the same card on November 22nd on Dazn PPV. That allows people to see them fight another opposition in fighting at a tuning level.
Future Bivol Pay Day Decision
Beterbiev wanted the trilogy battle with Dmitry Bivol, but that fight is not expected to happen until the second half of 2026. Bivol IBF, WBA, and WBO 175-LB Bivol are thought to remain on the September 13th fighting winner between September 13th Canelo alvarez and Terence Crawford to face whoever emerges as the winner.
It’s a larger pay day for Bivol (24-1, 12 Kos) to face the winner of Canelo-Crawford, and much easier on it physically than taking a healthy Beterbiev (21-1, 20 kos) in trilogy. Bivol took a beat in his re -sent with Artur last February. This was Artur coming away from surgery on the head -gin, nowhere close to what was in the first fighting.
Benavidez’s tune against Yarde
Benavidez’s ‘The Mexican Monster’ fights against the 175-weight competitor that Yarde (27-3, 24 kos) is not called a tune up, but is basically. Yarde, 33, is not close to the same level of talent as Benavidez, and is a huge step down in competition from his previous battle against David Morrell last February.
Although Benavidez may not want to admit, that was a difficult battle for him against Cuba Morrell, as he absorbed a lot of punishment from the harder puncher. Having to go 12 hard rounds against Morrell was a nightmare to Benavidez.
