Boxing results: Regis Program wins the war, defeating Joseph Diaz

Former 140 lbs champion Regis Program (30-3, 24 KOS) fought to a unanimous 10-round decision over former IBF higher featherweight champion Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Diaz (34-8-1, 15 kos) in welterweight fighting in their main fighting aid at Illinois University, Chicago.

Diaz JR had a high motivated motivation out on his feet in the first round after hurt with a left hook to the side of the head. Then he went away on the New Orleans fighter, hitting him with everything but the kitchen sink, but he couldn’t finish the job. After the round ended, I marched stunned back to its corner.

The scores were 98-92, 96-94, and 96-94.

Diaz got program in similar trouble in round two after being nailed with a short right hand on the inside. Once again, a barrage of punch landed to the end of Regis.

Program fought well in the rounds of three and four, using his injection and left immediately to get the best of Diaz. In the fourth, Joseph suffered a break on the left side of his eye of conflict of heads while on the inside.
