Coach Marc Ramsey reveals Dmitry Bivol “disappeared” from negotiations for the third fight with Beterbiev

Artur Beterbiev has chosen to move on from his attempts to discuss a trilogy fight with Dmitry Bivol after Bivol disappeared from negotiations. Beterbiev coach Mark Ramsey says Bivol has “disappeared” and stopped calling back.

Ramsey says Bivol is being offered more money from Russian organizers who would have been more than he had in both of their fights. He still chose not to go through with the fighting.

The former undisputed lightweight heavyweight champion Beterbiev (21-1, 20 KOS) is now fighting against Dean Nicholson on November 22nd at Arena Anb in Riyadh.

Bivol disappears from fighting negotiations

“We tried to discuss fighting with Bivol for months, and disappeared. At one time, Riyadh’s season wanted to organize that fight, and at one time there were some people in Russia who wanted to organize that fight in Moscow,” said coach Marc Ramsey SecondsouT, detailing the difficulties that Artur Beterbiev has had a try to discuss a third fight with Dmitry Bivol.

Obviously, Bivol felt that the money was not good enough for him to go on a third battle with Beterbiev because he would not walk away from him in a much larger number than he had for the first two fights.

The two fights were difficult for Bivol, as he took more punishment from Beterbiev than in any other battle during his career. He took a beat in the 12th round on his own in the second chance with Artur last February. He was fortunate that Beterbiev did not put that kind of weight on him the whole fight because he would not have been able to resist him.

Mark Ramsey details the actions of Bivol

“They (the Russians) brought a lot of money to the table, and more money than he (Bivol) deserved and more money than he did for the first and second match in Saudi. She still refused. She disappeared completely from the negotiations,” Ramsey said of Bivol. “We decided to go ahead with Artur. He’s 40. We don’t want to stay on anyone.”

It is good that Beterbiev has not wasted the rest of 2025 with his discussions for the trilogy. He is now fighting against Dean Nicholson on November 22nd in Riyadh, and could face David Benavidez afterwards.

Beterbiev won’t wait for Bivol

“He disappeared completely from discussion, and at one time there was no call back or information at all. So we decided to go in another direction. The way Bivol’s team is currently acting, I have doubts,” said Ramsey when he was asked if he believes the trilogy fighting will take place. “We want to get back in the circle soon. So we decided to go another way.

Bivol would not have disappeared from discussions if someone had not promised even more payday for him to fight another fighter. The one spoken is Bivol fighting Canelo Alvarez or possibly Terence Crawford next, after those two met next month on September 13th.

The crazy money Crawford gets, it’s understandable why Dmitry would want to fight against the winner of that fight rather than for $ 10 million or whatever is offered for a third battle with Beterebiev.

Crawford gets $ 50 million for Canelo fighting. Bivol would know that she is too dangerous fighting against Beterbiev again and possibly missing that fight. If he was beaten again by Artur, his chances of fighting against Canelo-Crawford winner could go down the drain.

“Of course, he wants to fight Bivol the third time, and he wants to do it now. He was ready to do six years ago, the first fight. Bivol stayed and waited until Artur was 40 before his fight,” said Ramsey.

Even with Bivol waiting six years, Beterbiev was still beating him and deserving the victory in their second -time match last February. The critics Artur worked over in the second Bivol conflict in Riyadh. At worst, Beterbiev deserved a draw.
