Danny Garcia’s return: ‘Swift’ eyes fight back on October 18 at Barclays Center

Danny Garcia will lead against an opponent who is still determined on October 18th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Hopefully, for the sake of Garcia, he faces someone outside the top tier in the younger middleweight section. It does not look capable of beating any of the competitors at 154 at its age.

This will be the first fight for the former two-divised ‘Swift’ World Champion Garcia (37-4, 21 Kos) in over a year since being stopped in the ninth round by WBA mid-weight champion Erislandy Erislandy Erislandy Lara on September 14th, 2024.

Danny looked like he didn’t belong in the ring with Lara. Garcia had not fought in two years entering that fight. It was a wrong idea to challenge a talented fighter like Erislandy after that long layoff.

The plan is to keep their fighters active as they work on securing a new platform.”

Fans see no point in Garcia continuing to fight after the way he performed against Lara. That was Danny’s second loss in his last three fights, and he looked like the fighter’s shell he was in 2017, when he lost his WBC welter weight title to Keith Thurman through a 12 -round split decision. That fighting took a lot out of the two fighter.

The 18 -year professional garcia is too small to be fighting at the age of 154. His best weight class was 140, but it could be too difficult for him to get back down to that section at his age. Even if he did, the competition is too good for him at his age. Even if Danny was in his main, he would have huge problems going up against fighters like Gary Antuanne Russell, Richardson Hitchins, Teofimo Lopez, and Subriel Matias.
