Denmark Zoo requires donations of small pets as a food for predators.
The Aalborg Zoo said it tries to imitate the natural nutritional chain of the animals there “for both the welfare of animals and professional integrity”, and provides assurances that pets will be “gently eliminated by employees.”
“If you have a healthy animal, it must be eliminated for various reasons, do not hesitate to donate us,” said the North Denmark Zoo in a Facebook post.
The zoo points to Guinea pigs, rabbits and chicken as possible donations.
After being disposed of, animals will be used as feed, according to the zoo.
“This way, nothing is lost-and we guarantee natural behavior, nutrition and welfare of our predators,” said the zoo.
Online dubbing for pets is accompanied by a picture of the Wildcat program, which gives its teeth with its mouth wide open and a link to the website for animal, noting that the facility is also interested in receiving horses.
The zoo, which is not accessible immediately for additional details, is not included in pets or other animals as possible donations.
