There are no titles at stake, but the winner will be moved up to the positions in section 140 lbs. Duarte (29-3-1, 23 KOS) comes into battle after winning his last three fights since being cast out by Ryan Garcia in 2023. Sims, 31, has won his last nine fights after losing to Samuel Tea in 2018.

The consequences of pressing in

  • Oscar Duarte 139.8 Against Kenneth Sims JR 139.8
  • Regis Program 142 Vs Joseph ‘Jo’ Diaz Jr 142.2

“If the fighting is fought on the inside, Duarte is going to cruise to victory. Sims have to use his footwork, he must use his skills. He has to use his boxing ability. He has that ability,” Tim Bradley said on her channel. “It can change from Southpaw to Orthodox.”

The fighting will be held on the inside, whether Sims wants it there or not. He will wait to keep the fight on the outside, but he cannot do anything to prevent Duarte from forcing him to a brawl with others except holding. That won’t work because Duarte won’t allow him to do so.

“I noticed that Sims changed his style to a boxer-puncher, although he is not a big puncher,” said Bradley. “Many times, you have to be able to mix things. To prevent weight sometimes you have to be able to fight weight with weight.”

The opposition that Kenneth has fought during his career has been nothing special. When you look at his resume, he has mostly fought second -tier opponents. Over the past few years, he has moved on to marginalized level competitors, but has stayed away from the top 10 fighters.

Sims aging, and the first thing that goes is the legs. He has to mix him more with his opponents, now, because his energy level and legs are not what they were at one time.

“Once you have a man like Duarte running down the hill and becoming confident, it’s very difficult to slow down,” said Bradley. “Duarte starts to hit you, and for some reason, you legs stop working. The punch is so heavy that you have to sit and plant and arms for the effect of those shots. Sims will have to stop boxing Duarte.”

It’s going to be cruel hard for Sims, 31, to stop a young fighter like Duarte, who will come on all night, attack him with powerful shots. Sims cannot treat the fighting so that it is an amateur fight because it is young enough to run around the ring for 12 rounds now.

He is an 11 year professional and is unable to run for a whole battle. Furthermore, the body shots with which Duarte will hit Sims will be too difficult for him to take while moving. To brush properly for those types of fighters, you have to stop moving.
