Eddie Hearn fights for Yafai’s Galal to avoid re -sent Francisco Rodriguez Jr.
Eddie Hearn wants the WBA to allow Calal Yafai to skip the WLD command re-sent with Francisco Rodriguez Jr. and be named a compulsory challenger for the featherweight champion Kenshiro Teraji.
Doping History Rodriguez Jr.
Hearn discovered that Rodriguez Jr. (40-6-1, 27 KOS) proved positive not only for his fight against Yafail (9-1, 7 Kos) on June 21st, but also in his previous booth against Josus Jesus Morales on December 15th 15th last year. That fight was awarded a competition.
Rodriguez Jr. beat Hearn’s fighter, Yafai, dropping him in the 12th round to his Dethrone from his Temporary Featherweight title WTG last June in Birmingham, England. It was a one-sided battle, with Francisco JR winning on scores of 119-108, 119-108, and 118-109.
Hearn is reluctant to fight against Rodriguez again. It’s understandable. With him testing positively for two consecutive fights, he is wary of Yafai fighting him again. It was such a one -sided battle that it was difficult to attribute Rodriguez’s dominance to Peds. It has always been a high volume combination puncher. That style is kryptonite for a yafai method of fighting. He is a man who uploads on single shots, trying to cast out his opponents.
“How do we get in a position where, within two weeks after the news broke about the test. I don’t know if he has tested his s sample,” said Eddie Hearn Ifl TV About Francisco Rodriguez Jr. “He has gone through a process and decided it was an accident and was unlucky.
“The fighting is a nothing. The title is empty, but he has to do it again. I discovered last night that Francisco Rodriguez Jr. also missed a drug test in his battle before Galal Yafai (against Josue Jesus Jesus Morales last December). I noticed that it was a no match in Texas. We reached out to the Texas commission to confirm that he had failed a drug test. “
It doesn’t matter that Rodriguez JR failed a drug test in his previous fight against Morales. The conflict against Yafai was still approved. So, Hearn needs to decide whether or not Yafai wants to go through with the re -sent with Rodriguez. If he chooses not to, he will have to go in a different direction towards the world title.
“I want a full report on what happened in that process because we had VADA tests in place for that fighting (Rodriguez vs Yarfai),” said Hearn. “If I had known that Francisco Rodriguez failed a drug test that night, we would have had even more extensive tests. I would also have told WBC, ‘Are you sure this guy is eligible for the elimination.
“‘So you tell me, Francisco Rodriguez has missed a drug test in his last two fights. On a fighting night, he had drugs in his system. Now you want to order the re-sent. Galal Yafai has been placed in a situation where he has fought a man with a man who incorporates a drug performance in his system over 12 rounds.”
Yafai took beat that night. His coach should have stopped the fighting by the sixth round, because it was clear by that point that Rodriguez was too good for him. There was no point in allowing gall to stay out there and absorb all that penalty against a superior fighter.
Hearn insists yafai compulsorily
“If this guy has failed tests, not just one, whatever you do, don’t book this re -sentence,” said Hearn. “ The b-sample, you’ve gone through all the paperwork and science, and you’ve just gone, ‘oh, he was unlucky.
Hearn wastes his time, hoping that WBC will allow him to skip the re-sent with Rodriguez and become a mandatory challenger for the 112 lbs title. If Eddie is not comfortable as he would fight against Francisco Jr. Again, he should tell him not to.
“What about the last one? This is a disgrace that yafai galley has to re -draw this guy. It’s time for Yafai’s galley to get a chance after what he has been through. He’ll be up to Yafai,” said Hearn when he was asked if he will go on with the second -chance.
