Former Romanian President Ien Ilisku’s age 95

Former Romanian president Ian Ilisku, who is the president of the country’s chaotic transition from Communism to democracy, died at the age of 95.
Ilisku was diagnosed with lung cancer and was admitted to the hospital in early June, the capital of Romania.
“The government has announced the demise of former Romania President Mr. Ian Ilisku,” the government’s statement said the details of the state funeral will be shared soon.
Ilisku was the first-free president of Romania and served twice by 1986-1996 and 2000-2004. In 1989 in, Romania’s Communist rule was accused of crimes against humanity for violent revolt of Violen, but he always refused.
The charges were brought in 2019, but he was never convicted.
He was also convicted in a separate case for the role of the mining workers to be called to crush the students’ protests after the election in 1990 1990.
The bloody crackdown, known as the Minoriad, made a wide range of international protests.
Before being admitted to his latest hospital, Illiscu received a regular medical examination at Illias Hospital in Bucharest.
In 2019, he underwent surgery for pericardial fusion – this condition affects the heart.
