How did Shinkhol revived the controversy over the rights of migrant workers in Singapore
BBC News, Singapore

On Saturday, a group of workers at the nearest construction site took action when 3 meters (10 feet) deep on the busy Singapore road.
Catching the ropes from their work site, they threw it to the woman driver in Sikhol, who left the car at this time.
Within five minutes, they pulled her to security.
“I was scared, but every feeling (Sick) was that the woman had to get rid of the first,” the construction site Forum Sapia Pipip Pichai Udayappan later told reporters.
The footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media and many people were working as a protagonist.
Mr. Udiyayppan is a “migratory worker” – a nouns used in Singapore to describe 1.117 million laborers from low -income countries like Bangladesh, India and Myanmar.
Many of those people do low salary and workers in a profound job to the people of Singapore.
This is not the first time the migrant workers have to work as the first respondent to save their lives in Singapore. In April, after the fire, four of them helped to rescue the children who were trapped in the Shofhouse.
Their recent actions have resurrected the debate over the rights of low pay laborers in Singapore.
The fast -growing economy of Singapore is built on the back of these workers who work about three quarters of foreign workers in the country. Many of them work in areas like construction, marine shipyards and manufacturing
Although Singapore does not have the minimum wage, according to the labor lawyer’s groups, SS $ 300 ($ 233; £ 175) earns less money and they often live in a crowded hostel far from residential areas.
Yet they are often subject to recruitment agencies and their employers, which have more work, free workers and poor living conditions. These issues are well documented, but activists say that it has changed a little in many years.
“Today, you will celebrate them. Tomorrow, you will go back to normalize them, lie and normalize them as dirty,” Social activist Suredar Kumar wrote on Instagram as a reply to the incident.
In the 5th, during the Caid (or the continent), during the country (or continental), hundreds of workers took positive tests daily after the labor bedroom emerged as a virus.
This led to public discussions about their terms – for decades of decades that the lawyers had warned – and later the authorities took action to improve the hostel criteria.
Another perseverance, on which the condensed incident has again put the spotlight, meaning the use of a flat-bed truck to make these workers round.
“It is a poetic poet about the fact that the traditional workers who migrated to Laurie’s backs were away from their way to save Singapore in their car,” said Shri. Kumar said.
Singapore laws prevent people from traveling on the cargo deck of such trucks under medical emergency conditions. But if they are employed by the owners of the truck, they are allowed.
Sometimes, about 12 workers pack the back of a flat-bed truck with no seatbelt. This is a financial option for many employers that use trucks to transport goods.
But this caused multiple accidents, including some deaths.
In April 7, two foreign workers died and more than a dozen were injured in a steady flat-bed truck.
In 224, at least four workers were killed and more than 400 injured in a similar accident.

Activists have lobed for a long time to ban this transportation system – the issue has been discussed again and again in Parliament – but a little changed.
The Singapore government repeatedly states that while companies are encouraged to transport workers on buses, the ban on such trucks is not viable for small businesses.
“Most of them can be forced to lose their jobs, such as local and foreign workers,” senior state minister told Parliament in February.
“This will delay serious projects such as (public housing), schools, hospitals and (train) lines, and consequently will cost more for Singapore residents.”
The activists criticized the workers for reducing the rights of workers only on financial views, realizing that other countries, including the UAE and Bahrain, have banned the transport of people on trucks.
Shri Kumar suggested that the levy collected by foreign workers can be used to subsidize other transport methods without paying the business and consumers.
The government’s speech “saves the position of the employers through the lives and livelihoods of the migrant workers,” said Jaya Anil Kumar, a senior researcher of the humanitarian organization of migration.
The list of changes by lawyers is just one of the ban on lorry rides, which includes employment salary, strong visual blower protection and subsidized health services.
Despite the devotion of many decades of life to Singapore, there is no way to keep these workers from the type of work permit they have, which are different from foreign professionals and authorities than Than.
No matter how long they work in the country, they cannot be eligible for a permanent residency. Shri Udayappan, who has been directing the last weekend, has been working here for 22 years.
Work permit holders also need government approval to marry Singapore residents – another case has been underlined by activists for years.
Ms. Anil Kumar said, “Due to the inadequate political will to bring about effective change, the change of assembly has slowed down.”

Identity or tokenism?
Earlier this week, the authorities presented the seven workers who were involved in the rescue of the conjunction with monuments, and the Minister of State described their actions that “a good example of how migrating workers generally help in society”.
But many have criticized the movement as tokenism.
Mr. Kumar said, “Any proportion of thanking him for his heroism should not be forgiven the exploitative economic model that oppresses him every day to maintain his life in Singapore,” said Shri Kumar.
Many expressed these thoughts on social and said that men are deserving of more receipt. Some demanded them to be given financial rewards and permanent residents.
The Singapore Manpower Ministry said in a statement to the BBC that migrant workers are encouraged to “get feedback for more appreciation”, but did not pay attention to the specific instructions they present.
“We are eligible to recognize and celebrate their daily acts as part of who we are as a community,” a ministry spokesman said while answering the questions.
The immigrant rights group has deposited S $ 72,000 ($ 55,840; £ 41,790 from its rainfall raincoats collecting its own funds, which will be divided into seven men.
“Many times, we have seen how these migrant workers are at risk to save many citizens with children from dangerous situations,” said Akam Mohsin, who runs an activity center for Bangladeshi workers in Central Singapore.
“They give this news and hold on to the best examples of humanitarian work, but their own humanity and human rights are being constantly violated at their workplace, how they transport and how they live,” said Mr. Mohsin.
However, awareness about the problems of migratory workers has increased over the years.
Group of lawyers and governments have worked together that combines workers and comprehensive communities.
For example, Mr Mohsin has driven a place to write music, dance and music to the migrant workers – Singapore residents have helped translate and publish their work and often provide the audience for their performance.
But some activists say that most people in the country still look at migrant workers as a class that are of poor and local community.
Many people live in the industrial area and work, which is often far away from city residential regions.
In 2008, about 5,4 residents of Serrangun Garden petitioned against the construction of migrant workers near their home by the upper middle class area.
To calm them down, the authorities reduced the size of the bedroom and created a separate road to enter the bedroom.
“We basically look at them as a different class of people. We expect them to serve and believe they are here,” said Alex Au, vice president of the number of transient workers in the lawyer group.
“The servants leap to the help of their owners.”
