I Refused to Care for My Mom—I Got No Inheritance Anyway / Bright Side

my dear A bright side teamand
My sister Jin struggled financially and asked our father to give her the house as an “early inheritance”. My mother agreed – on the condition that you take care of Jin. Jane accepted.
But then, Jin died suddenly. I was shocked when my mother called me and said: “Your sister left you with her responsibilities – to my association. She also had many debts, and you should help them cover it.”
I told her that I would not take care of her or pay off the debts of Jin. Jin had already used most of my mother’s money and assets while she was alive. I have nothing left – neither inheritance nor support.
Now, my mother says I am greedy and selfish. She feels betrayal and appreciation, especially as a single mother who raised us alike.
But … were you really wrong?
Good greetings,
Kylie
