My Vegan Daughter Threw Out All My Groceries—So I Sent Her the Bill / Bright Side

Hello bright side,

I asked my teenage daughter to clean the kitchen. I came back to find Two weeks of meat and dairy In the trash. I smiled: “I help you to live better.” She handed her the receipt and said she has 24 hours to pay.

The next morning, I woke up to find all pork savings – coins, birthdays, and curls $ 20 – stacked on the kitchen table with a sticky note, “We hope this covers everything.” Obviously, she meant to be funny, and perhaps even sweet. But that I didn’t feel this way for me. I work hard to provide our family, and I did not expect to wake up on empty shelves and a lecture on ethics from someone who is still borrowing my phone charger.

Do not understand me wrong – I support her vegetarian lifestyle. I even adjusted how to shop until you feel listed. But throwing the food I bought with my own, without asking, exceeded a major line. You are not sure if you are exaggerated by sending the bill to it … or it is not intended by not making this deal larger.

Was this just a teenager, or something I need to take more seriously? I love her deeply, but I also feel that I felt the darling. How can I set the boundaries that stick – without destroying confidence between us?

Thanks for listening – I would like to hear from other fathers.
Warning,
Mark
