Ray Ford’s World Title Ambition: Why is victory against Abraham Nova his path to O’Shaquie Foster or Sugar Nunez

Ray Ford says he hopes his next fight after his August 16th conflict against Abraham Nova for a world title against Sugar Nunez’s Advanced Featherweight Champions or O’Shaquie Foster. Ford (17-1-1, 8 ko) has no preference for which of the two champions he challenges.
Ford is fighting against Nova’s new opponent (24-3-1, 17 ko) in a 12-round under-card fighting in Riyadh. The event will be shown live on Dazn PPV. Ray can’t afford another night away as we saw in his loss to Nick Ball or his controversial 12th round victory over Otabek Kholmatov in 2024. He took a beat in those two fights.
“My main thing is that I want the title of the world. So if it’s not one of them then I don’t mind who I’m fighting,” said Raymond Ford Boxing Social, discusses his recent fight against Anthony Cacace falling through. “I’ve been talking to my team. They know what I want (the world’s title blow), and hopefully they can do it for me.”
Ford, 26, has won his last two fights since losing to Nick Ball by the decision of a 12 -round split last year. He could have won that fight if he had put more weight on a ball, which overcame him. He has to change his style because he does not have the power to constantly brawl with the powerful 130 lbs. He is already starting to look and sound tired, as a fighter who has had a long career, although this is just his sixth year.
“Boxing is not as fun as it used to be. The business part of it is frustrated, but everyone has to go through it. I need to make sure I put myself in a situation. I hope so,” said Ford when he was asked and would like his next battle to be a title being shot against the Nunez or O’Shaquie Foster super sugary featherweight champions.
“That’s the battle that makes the most of me (Foster). I don’t care what belt it is. I jump at any chance.
