Ryan Garcia calls Teofimo Lopez’s lies out for a rejected golden boys battle
Ryan Garcia revealed Teofimo Lopez as full of “Cap” Today, defeating him over his X, saying that Oscar de la Hoya and his management team had turned the battle down when he told them he wanted to fight the next king. Garcia says it is a bold face lie.
Ryan (24-2, 20 ko) wants to fight against Lopez next, and doesn’t look like he is giving up on this. So if Lopez doesn’t want to face it next, it should come clean and say he doesn’t want to. His choices are limited.
Either Teo Fight Ryan is what would likely be a high-end career day or face Shakur Stevenson for smaller money, and possibly get William Zepeda’s treatment from the judges. It’s clueless if you’re teofimo on which of the two battles to take unless he is afraid of Garcia’s powerful left hook. That was the weapon that brought Devin Haney down to the ground, dropping it three times last year.
Why would Teofimo offer a story about Ryan Garcia’s managers rejecting it when it was something that can be checked so easily? It’s not like Teo could think of this without Ryan’s calling on him. Of course, if Golden Boy pulls the wool over Ryan’s eyes by not telling him they refused the Lopez fight. It is skeptical that they would do this because they would know that Teofimo would blow about it immediately on X.
For Teofimo to say that Golden Boy has rejected the fighting, he suggests that he does not feel confident about fighting Garcia. It’s a more dangerous battle for him than going up against the weak-punched Shakur. The only thing he would have to fear to fight against Stevenson is to be picked. It’s a different story against Ryan. He has the power to beat Teo and the mess of his career.
