Tens of thousands of Minnesota houses and companies without authority remained on Tuesday after severe storms rolled throughout the state for a second night in a row.

Storms late on Monday brought winds to the hurricane to parts of the state-with many reports on trees and energy lines from the center of Minnesota, through twin cities and towards Rothschest and Winuna.

As of Tuesday early, Xcel Energy was about 80,000 of its customers in Minnesota without energy.

The smaller facilities also reported a significant interruption. Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperookive has reported about 1,000 customers without energy as of sunrise on Tuesday – a decrease from more than 7000 in the wake of immediate storms.

“It will be a long night, overnight and Tuesday for our crew,” MVEC It was reported in a late update of the two. “Although we hope that we can reach every interruption at the same time, restoring takes time. Our priority is to restore energy to the largest number of members as soon as possible and safe, starting with power outages and then working on our way down, or sometimes moving to the nearest power outage site.”

The National Weather Service reported that winds of 74 miles per hour in Casson, 70 miles per hour near Uatona, 68 miles per hour near Lake City and 65 miles per hour in Shakoubi. There were large -scale reports on the trees and large branches that were brought down by storms.

Storms also brought more heavy rains and floods to Stevens Province in western Minnesota after a flashing overnight at the end of the week.

Western Weslinen witnessed some damage to storms on Monday night, as well as Iowa – as storms produced winds of about 100 miles per hour.
