Walmart left 11 injured in Michigan

At least 11 people were injured in the attack at the Walmart Supermarket in Michigan, officials said.

Authorities confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody after the incident in Travers City.

The nearest hospital said they were treating 11 victims. “As a result, in our emergency department, patients are currently experiencing high levels of high levels of patients,” Munson Medical Center said on social media. Local media reports states that three persons are undergoing surgery.

The footage online posted shows multiple police and ambulance units in Walmart’s carpark.

The Grand Travers County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they were “investigating the multiple blowing incident at Wal-Mart in Travers City”.

The suspect is a resident of Michigan and used the “folding knife style weapon”, Sheriff Michael Shei told reporters. The incident appeared to be a “random action”, he said.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said the federal employees were responding to the necessary support to the local authorities.

Michigan’s Governor Greater Vitammer said that she was “in contact with law enforcement about the horrible news”.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and there is a community through this cruel violence.”

Travers City Detroit is about 255 miles (410 kilometers) to the northwest.
