William H. Webster, only a person to lead the FBI and the CIA, dies in 101

William E died. Webster, former director of the FBI and the director of the CIA, at the age of 101, his family announced on Friday.

Webster led the FBI from 1978 to 1987 and the Central Intelligence Agency from 1987 to 1991, which made him the only person who heads the country’s best law enforcement agency and the Main Intelligence Agency.

“We are proud of the extraordinary man who had in our lives, he spent life to fight to protect his country and the rule of precious law,” his family said in a statement.

Before his time in the leadership of the agencies in Washington, he held the position of Federal Public Prosecutor and later spent about eight years as a federal judge.

He also served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Former President Jimmy Carter Webster, a Republican, for 10 years as head of the Federal Investigation Office, used the agency, as the agency tried to enhance a reputation that was missed by detecting local espionage, internal corruption and other abuse violations.

Webster was later chosen by President Ronald Reagan to lead the CIA, to replace the director William JCy, who was criticized for criticism to the extent that he ignored Congress and contributes to the weapons scandal opposite the hospital known as Iran’s Contra.

“Every manager at the CIA or the FBI must be ready to resign if he is required to do something that knows it is a mistake,” Webster said once.

In 2002, the Securities and Stock Exchange Committee chose the leadership of a construction council established by Congress to supervise the accounting profession in response to the scandals that involve Enron and other companies.

The FBI said he was sending his prayers and condolences to the Webster family after learning his death.

“He was a dedicated public employee who spent more than 60 years in service to our country, including in the US Navy, as a federal judge, the director of the CIA, and his director as our manager from 1978-1987,” the agency said in a statement. “We are grateful to his life and legacy, and we wish his family, friends and colleagues peace and comfort during this time.”

Christopher Rai, the former FBI director, who left the agency earlier this year, said he was “very sad” with the death of Webster.

“My heart goes out to his family at this time of loss. He will bear his legacy – not only in the institutions he led, but in the generations of public officials who inspired them to carry the flame forward,” Wiri said in a statement.

Webster survived his second wife, Linda Clogston and Webster, three children from his first marriage, their husbands, seven grandchildren, two wives, and 12 grandchildren.

His first wife, Dosella Lin, died in the eighties.
